Chicken Schnitzels

Process

  1. In a bowl, mix egg, cumin, and flour. Make a very thin batter, and add water as needed.
  2. On a large plate or a tray, spread a generous amount of breadcrumbs.
  3. Dip each piece of chicken in the batter to coat, then place it into the breadcrumbs. Bury each Schnitzel in excess breadcrumbs, and press them in firmly. Flip, and repeat on the other side.
  4. Shallow-fry each Schnitzel until golden-brown, and rest on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

Shallow-frying

  1. Heat up a pan with a layer of oil that would reach roughly half the Schnitzels. Put a small glop of the breadcrumbs into the oil. When you can see bubbles around it, the oil is hot enough.
  2. Gently place each Schnitzel into the oil. Fry for 4-6 minutes, until golden brown.
  3. Let rest on paper towels, to absorb excess oil.
